Chapter 1
IN THIS LESSON
Sound acts as an activity centre…
A police siren in the distance. Some joggers running by. A few birds chirping above the sounds of cars on the motorway.
None of which are visible.
However, the effectiveness of their sounds results in the audience being transported immediately to its corresponding locale. But the exact choice of sounds need to be scrutinised together to see if their fit also corresponds well with the visuals. And presto, audience immersion.
-
High-quality portable microphone (eg: Zoom H4Essential, combined with Shure SM7b shotgun mic for field recording)
Whatever sounds and objects you can find within - and beyond - the location’s soundscape you wish to create!
